Lucid Nightmares
A downloadable game for Windows
The Game
Defeat monsters in this mix of real time and turn based Action Deckbuilding with powerful skills and effects to go deeper inside your dream and wake up.
The time only moves when you move, time your actions to avoid being hit by the creatures that haunt your nightmares and setup powerful attacks to vanish them.
This Version
This game is in early development and all is subject to changes. We are still experimenting with the art of the game, and some things are placeholder (and will be for a while).
Most of the content (cards/creatures/traits/bosses, etc...) probably need tuning (not to make it fair, but to make the unfair fun) and it was already tested a lot, but it might still contain some unknown breaking bugs.
(This page is also a work in progress)
The Development
This is my passion project, I want it to be the best it can be, I plan on releasing weekly builds for a while to test changes, iterate on concepts and try new content. Player suggestions on what to work next are always welcomed.
However, I need validation before committing to it as I also need it to be financially viable. If the feedback is positive and a considerable amount of people show interest in seeing this game done then I will work more on it. I'm not an artist, so I need that validation before investing in quality art as well.
How to leave feedback?
We have a small google form with 5 minutes worth of questions (and 5 minutes more of optional questions if you have the time).
https://forms.gle/7vTAhkLpbE8mMRwJ6
Also, the game saves your run history (We don’t have a UI to show it on this version yet), but only saves it locally at this moment, so if you go to the folder “%APPDATA%/Lucid Nightmares/Profile1/” you will find files that end in “.run”. Consider sending them as well.
But other than that, any form feedback is valid, you can post here on itch.io, you can find me on bluesky (@felipequevici.bsky.social) and message me there, post a gameplay video with thoughts (that would be super helpful), write a blog, you can enter my dreams Inception-style, you can train a pigeon to bring a letter to my house, whatever is best for you - Please refrain from using the last two suggestions though as they are kinda creepy.
THANKS FOR PLAYING.
