Lullaby, SFXs and Polishing - 0.5.5



New Update
Welcome to the new update for Lucid Nightmares! Here is what's new.
LULLABY NEW ART
The first region of the game now has proper art. It's still in development, but it's already looking pretty good!
NEW INTENTIONS DISPLAY
Now some enemies have a better intention display, showcasing in red the last slice as the damage slice.
We also changed the intention display area off effect for semi-circle, and changed the color to match the color of the time slice. Yellow for preparation, red for danger.
NEW CARDS
We now have meteor based cards (with some cool VFXs)
Also some cards that freeze enemies movement, cards that slow then, a cute snowman. Try for your self! (And the manager has gone CRAZY if you try this patch there is a high chance that those cards are busted!)
IMPROVED MOVEMENT
We improved movement around smaller obstacles in the map so it's not as punishing. (GIF showcasing player passing thought the Lamp, the fire ball however, does not)
IMPROVED SFX
Now the whole game received a good amount of audio feedback, there is new SFXs for the cards, new SFXs for the enemies (there is even a neat system for looped audios of their actions to distort when the time slowdown), new SFXs for the menus, for the animations. They are all pretty much placeholder, but it's better than no sound at all.
INTERNAL CHANGES
There were a lot of internal code changes and refactoring, to improve maintainability and flexibility. Our end goal is having first party mod support, so this build already has a couple of cards written in LUA, so at some point we would be able to support player created cards. It's not top priority ad still has a lot to improve, but we are taking the right steps in that direction.
BUG FIXES
A few bugs, not that much to be honest, most of the bug fixed in this build process were introduced when making the new features for this version haha
What's next
Our goal at the moment is to polish the first 30 minutes of Gameplay, for the lullaby region, city region a couple of anomaly battles and a boss. So that means new art, animations and sfx for those areas, smaller gameplay changes to make the game easier to play (like the movement collision and enemy intention changes in this patch), we want a really well rounded and polished demo to showcase the game, but we will be creating new cards/traits/items/events/enemies in the meantime because it's fun haha
